Viva Las Vegas!!! After a delicious breakfast catered just for us at the hotel, we loaded the buses and headed out of California. The buses are traveling east for the first time in 25 days. Along the drive we stopped for lunch in Barstow, CA. Just outside Barstow the crew got a glimpse of the beginning (or end, if you prefer) of I-40. This interstate runs all the way across the US between Barstow, CA and Wilmington, NC.
About one movie length later we could see the large hotels and casinos of Las Vegas rising from the desert in the distance. The crew got a look at some of the Vegas iconic hotels and sights in the daylight on the way to the hotel. After unloading the bags from the bus and changing, the group set off for dinner and a show.
The miracle mile shopping center located at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino is home to a collection of stores, restaurants, and theaters. We spread out to various restaurants of our choosing. The show we watched was the V Variety Show. It featured a large number of acts including aerial artists, a magician, and even a pair of amazing roller skaters who did a routine on a small makeshift floor. The crew laughed, did the wave, and cheered for their favorite acts!
We ended the day by driving down the Vegas strip being star struck by the lights, huge hotels, and elaborate architecture of the buildings.
